Harbinger, which was founded in 2004 and is part of ICx Technologies Co based in McLean, Virginia, provides technology and consulting services for national security – homeland defense and counter-terrorism. The company employs 50 people.
All are expected to join Acxiom and will be located at so-called centers of excellence in Virginia and Mississippi, where Harbinger also maintains an office, including its co-founder CEO and president.
Harbinger’s proprietary foxhound search technology analyzes and extracts intelligence derived from foreign languages. The company’s language portfolio also includes name analysis software called IsMap that provides details about region or origin, entity analysis, phonetics-based translation, and document categorization tools.
Acxiom plans to use Harbinger’s technologies to help its commercial clients expand internationally.
It will also expand Acxiom’s products and services to the federal government intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
Charles Morgan, company leader of Little Rock, Arkansas-based Acxiom, said the acquisition is a natural extension in our growth strategy for [our] risk mitigation business.
