Acer Group’s Australian operation has won what it claims is the world’s second-largest tender for supplying laptop computers. Patrick Lin, the managing director of Acer Australia, said the firm has won a contract from the Education Authorities in the state of Victoria to supply 30,000 laptop computers, 10,700 for delivery this year and the rest in stages over a five year period.
