Acer Inc has formed a $4.6m joint venture with Persetel Holdings Pty Ltd, a South African computer company: Acer will take a 50% stake in Persetel-owned Technical System Distribution, will rename the joint venture Acer Africa, and will start manufacturing and marketing operations in the Republic next January.
