Absolute Software is partnering with Prestigio to bring Persistence Technology to its mobile device platform.
The endpoint security and enterprise mobility solutions provider will embed Persistence technology in the firmware of Prestigio devices at the factory level, with focus initially on the Prestigio MultiPad Windows 8 tablets.
Prestigio customers will be able to maintain a persistent connection with endpoints in order to mitigate against mobile device security risks. The technology from Absolute, employed by Acer, ASUS and Dell amongst others, provides visibility and control over devices. Uniquely, it allows automatic reinstallation if an Absolute software client is removed from an endpoint.
The move taps into a broader mobility trend, in which endpoint security is being considered an increasingly important part of a standard enterprise mobility strategy.
"Persistence technology brings significant security capabilities to our platform and customers, as we expand our brand across emerging markets in Europe," said Marek Horyl, General Manager and COO at Prestigio EMEA.
He added: "It is important that we provide our customers with devices that are secured using Absolute’s innovative technology so they can confidently protect their mobile devices and the sensitive data they contain."
Mark Grace, Vice President, Worldwide OEM and Business Development, Channel, at Absolute commented: "Prestigio has made a name for itself by delivering high-quality Windows tablet solutions into new markets.
"We look forward to helping Prestigio further expand across key markets in Europe, and are excited about the shared growth opportunities their global customer base represents."
