Microsoft Corp has demonstrated its 32-bit version of SQL Server for the first time: the forthcoming release is designed to exploit the multiprocessing architecture of the Windows NT operating system and was demonstrated on an 80486-based multiprocessor from NCR Corp with a variety of Windows-based front-end tools; the thing was shown at the Sybase International User Conference – Microsoft develops SQL Server with Sybase Inc, and the new version is promised to offer improved performance, better security, rRobust fault tolerance, scalability across notebooks to super-servers, and portability to RISC boxes.
