With Seagate Technology entering the 3.5 Winchester fray last week (CI No 613), the battle to fill the slots in the front of the next generation of personal computer is hotting up. Finis Conner’s Conner Peripherals start-up is doubling output to 300 a month in the US, where it is increasing the number of production lines to 16 from 6. The company is also expanding output at its offshore facility in Singapore to 5,000 drives a month.
