FutureSoft of Houston, Texas, says it is developing pen-based applications to run on NCR’s new 3125 notepad computer, which will work with either Go’s PenPoint or Microsoft’s Pen Windows operating systems. Details are sketchy, reports Microbytes but the company’s programs will run under Microsoft’s pen-based environment. The new programs, DynaComm/Elite, for 3270 SNA communications, and DynaComm Asynchronous, for remote asynchronous computing, will both let users drive mainframe sessions from remote or local sites using handwriting recognition. They will ship in beta form along with Microsoft’s release of the beta version of Pen Windows. FutureSoft provides the terminal emulation program bundled with Windows 3.0. Microsoft will bundle a FutureSoft terminal emulation product with Pen Windows.
