A group of 10 electronic mail service companies has formed a Directory Services Consortium to promote development of universally-accessible interconnected messaging directories: founders include AT&T Co, British Telecom/Tymnet, CNCP Canada, General Electric Co, IBM, MCI Communications, Pacific Bell, Teleglobe Canada, US Sprint Communications and Western Union Corp.
