Business infrastructure software provider Software AG has launched Optimize for Infrastructure: Mainframe Edition, which enables customers to monitor the performance of multiple products including Adabas, Natural, EntireX and ApplinX from a single graphical viewpoint.

The new offering also analyses performance data to help customers predict future problems and fine-tune current system performance, the company claims.

According to the company, the new offering enables customers to monitor and manage the behavior of its products by consolidating input from monitoring products into a web-based tool. The Optimize consolidates green screen information using colour-coded graphs and also incorporates learning capabilities that analyse past behavior, allowing IT managers to take preemptive action on conditions before the business is impacted.

In addition, the new offering also enables IT managers to create rules to manage alerts and escalations in a way that matches his/her personal work style and the IT environment being monitored. It includes key performance indicators that allow customers to create rules about when and how to be alerted when a parameter goes out of range; supports predictive analysis, to predict and warn serious problem before it happens.

The new offering also supports the company’s products that run on open system platforms (Unix, Linux and Wind).

Peter Kuerpick, chief product officer and member of the executive board at Software, said: “Optimise for Infrastructure: Mainframe Edition enables IT managers to identify system-wide problems in the early stages and take action before the business is impacted or system level agreements are put in jeopardy.”
