US-based software development and services company Intergraph has released a new version of Standard Database for SmartPlant Reference Data, that enables rapid implementation of SmartPlant 3D and SmartMarine 3D and materials management.

The pre-configured offering provides users with access to piping material specifications certified for Smart 3D, and allows to define items, descriptions and dimensions that satisfy requirements throughout various phases of the project.

The company said the new version delivers a comprehensive range of commodity codes used to describe materials through a project life cycle, while offering sophisticated rules to maintain material descriptions.

The new release provides all SmartPlant Reference Data users access to available Process Industry Practices (PIP) piping material specifications through Intergraph’s partnership with PIP, a consortium of process industry owners and engineering construction contractors.

The newest version of Standard Database will include 40 PIP specifications, with a further 25 to be available in the next release.

Intergraph said that PIP specifications can be employed in Smart 3D, as they help reduce implementation time for faster project start-up.

Further, SmartPlant Reference Data users can easily transfer the PIP specifications into the Smart 3D model, and use them immediately in the Smart 3D model.

Standard Database also comes with SmartPlant Reference Data, the Intergraph offering that provides materials libraries at the corporate and project levels, enabling better standardisation and change management.
