Google isa allowing Android developers to make their free apps available in Iran.
In a statement, Google said that developers can make their free apps available in Iran today and instructed them how to do so.
"Note that this new distribution option is currently available only for free apps and not for priced apps or apps that use in-app billing," Google said.
The move is said to be linked to the US government’s decision in May 2013 to lift an export ban on consumer communications devices to Iran.
Apple also said it had removed Iran from its list of countries to which sales of its products including the iPhone, iPad and Mac are prohibited.
According to reports, the devices that are allowed to be exported to Iran include mobile phones, personal digital assistants, satellite phones, computers, consumer network equipment, anti-tracking software and virtualprivate networks in addition to tools related to anti-censorship, proxy, voice-over-IP and video chat.
The iPhone maker is still not allowed to sell its products in Cuba, Syria, North Korea and Sudan.
