Digital River, a provider of e-commerce services, has launched Software Network Agent, a new tool that enables software publishers to partner with OEMs and computer manufacturers to deliver software trials and downloads through a customised portal on a PC desktop.
According to Digital River, the new Agent, which runs from a multi-lingual user interface, includes real time performance reporting and marketing capabilities, such as multivariate testing and mass dynamic personalisation.
In addition, it also supports a co-branded user experience that can be customised for OEM or publisher business partners, such as retailers. Software publishers can then track impressions, clicks and sales driven by OEMs and retailers.
Digital River said that the Software Network Agent is one of the newest tools to be added to its marketForce e-marketing services. These managed services include search engine advertising and search engine optimisation, managed affiliate marketing, email channel management, site optimisation, multivariate testing, mass dynamic personalisation, and contextual and display advertising.
Jim Wehmann, SVP of global marketing at Digital River, said: “Online consumers today want to combine convenient shopping with targeted, relevant content. Now with Digital River’s Software Network Agent, publishers can work with OEMs to offer consumers easy access to software content and other merchandise right from an online store on their PC desktops.”
