Startup Pocket Shop has launched a one hour supermarket delivery service across London designed to cut the waiting time of online deliveries.
The service allows users to order shopping online from local stores including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Boots and Waitrose that are closest to them.
Pocket Shop said it carries out deliveries on foot to reduce carbon footprint.
Delivery charges depend on time, costing £6.50 to receive your shopping within one hour, £5.50 in two hours and £5.10 in three hours.
Other features include an app to guide users, a restock reminder email and a text message alerts.
Hemal Kuntawala, founder and CEO at Pocket Shop, said the service saves time and hassle.
"Supermarket trips are time consuming and repetitive given the trip, traffic, queues and carrying; the convenience stores that are appearing aren’t much different either," he explained.
"With Pocket Shop you have a hassle-free, time-saving shopping experience. You get the convenience of ordering online, wherever you might be, but you don’t have to plan ahead as delivery is in as soon as an hour. During our trials in Hampstead and Camden the average delivery time was 45 minutes."
