UK-based managed data services provider Six Degrees has completed the acquisition of unified communications integrator Aurora Networks.
The acquisition of Aurora Networks will add new capabilities to company’s IP telephony and video conferencing portfolio a well as add a complementary portfolio of data networking and fixed-line services.
With the acquisition, the managed data services provider is expected to have enhanced ability to deliver multimedia services across its infrastructure.
The acquisition is also said to provide incremental revenue opportunities in emerging market sectors such as hosting of communications servers along with mainstream IT applications and in managed video services.
Six Degrees Group will also invest a EUR2m in core network upgrades, including SIP trunking, through the provision of converged voice and video over IP applications.
The purchase of Aurora will help Six Degrees’ to improve its run-rate position to EUR54m revenue and EUR13m EBITDA.
Following the acquisition, Aurora Networks will be joining the Six Degrees Group team along with 20 employees. Aurora is accredited with Avaya, Polycom and Radvision.
Six Degrees CEO Alastair Mills said the acquisition plugs a gap in its portfolio and allows the company to offer new converged services and to add IP telephony to its colocation and cloud hosting applications.
"It also enables us to offer video as part of our managed data services suite," Mills said.
