Mozilla is reportedly trialling its new Firefox browser-based OS on tablets and has developed a new prototype device.
The new Foxconn-built prototype, dubbed InFocus New Tab F1, is powered by a quad-core 1GHz Allwinner CPU with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.
Features of the new hardware include 10in, 1280 x 800p display, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, and a 7000mAh battery.
The device also comes with GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity but only with support for 802.11b/g/n and a 7000mAh battery.
Manufactured by Foxconn, Mozilla’s entry-level tablet is predicted to be priced anywhere between $100 and $150, while will be targeted at the lower end of the market.
