Daily deals site LivingSocial has been offline for 24 hours and has not yet recovered.

The site began the second day of its outage today, which has been blamed on an internal error affecting the company’s website and mobile app, and which teams are working on to fix.

LivingSocial said in a statement that a solution is being developed, but 24 hours later, the site is still down (as of 11.30am Thursday 14th November).

"Suffice to say, we are ashamed and embarrassed," the company said.

"Our teams continue to work to address the internal issues with our website and mobile app – we anticipate that our systems will be live overnight here in DC.

"We know you are frustrated. So are we. We will do better and we will be back. We are committed to making this right with you, our customers and our merchants."
