Leostream, a provider of virtual hosted desktop software, has unveiled new Connection Broker 7.0, which provides an optimal virtual desktop experience and streamlines the management of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
The new Connection Broker 7.0 provides integration with VMware View and the high-performance graphics capabilities of the soft PC over Internet protocol (PCoIP), and supports an array of mobile devices including the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, the company said.
In addition, the Connection Broker 7.0 features VMware View Support; USB Linux support; and improved OpenLDAP Support.
The company said the new version streamlines the management of VDI through its VMware enhancements, cluster management capabilities, and desktop failover plans.
Connection Broker combines an array of clients, back-end systems and viewers to create a hosted VDI, and it integrates with existing network infrastructure with no changes to essential data centre systems, to provide a flexible set of policies for exact implementation of business rules for system administrators, users, and machines, the company said.
Leostream CEO Michael Palin said a connection broker is a key element in the management of a VDI, tying desktop images in the data centre to end-user devices.
