Huawei has denied reports that its telecoms equipments are more vulnerable to security threats compared to telecoms equipment manufactured by other firms.
The denial has come in response to reports that the US National Security Agency (NSA) has allegedly deployed secret ‘back doors’ in telecom equipments manufactured by Huawei and other firms.
There were also reports of vulnerabilities in Huawei routers.
Huawei chief financial officer Cathy Meng was cited by Associated Press as saying that there have been no incidents on networks due to security problems.
"A lot of reports say Huawei equipment has more vulnerabilities or is more easily breached," Meng said.
"These reports are groundless."
Earlier, the US House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee alleged that enabling Huawei to establish its presence in the US’ telecommunications infrastructure would let the Chinese govt to watch over the US government and employ in industrial snooping.
The Chinese firm is anticipating a 2013 operating profit of $4.8bn to $4.9bn, reporting a rise between 43 and 47% over last year’s operating profit of $3.2bn.
