BenQ has expanded its laptop lineup with the launch of Joybook R48, which features an Intel Core i3 Processor, 14-inch 1366×768 screen, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 graphics processing unit; DDR3 RAM (upgradable to 4GB) and HDD up to 500GB.

The company said that the new laptop utilises the Intel Hyper-Threading Technology2 that enables smart multi-tasking by allowing each processing core to run multiple threads.

According to BenQ, the ATI Radeon HD 5450 GPU uses the ATI Eyefinity Technology which can expand visual real estate up to three displays. The ATI Stream Technology embedded also enhances demanding applications and the latest generation games that require powerful multimedia capabilities.

The Joybook R48 also comes packaged with the SRS CS headphone which uses an audio rendering technology that processes 2-channel stereo or surround-encoded content that provides users with a life-like audio experience during their VoIP, movie or gaming sessions.

The company said that Joybook R48 comes with CyberLink’s PowerDirector 8 consumer video editing software optimised for Intel Core processors and ATI Stream technology.

In addition, the new laptop also comes equipped with dual 2W speakers, HDMI port, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 1.3M webcam, built-in card-reader, eSATA slot, and optional Bluetooth 2.1 device.
