Aruba Networks, a provider of wireless LAN products, has reported total revenue of $77.3m for the fourth quarter of 2010, an increase of 45% compared to $53.3m of the same quarter prior year.

The company posted a gross profit of $52.3m for Q4 fiscal 2010, an increase of 48% as compared to $35.4m of the same period last year, while operating income for Q4 fiscal 2010 was $0.7m, compared to an operating loss of $4.2m of the same quarter previous year.

For the quarter ended 31 July 2010, Aruba Networks reported a net profit of $0.42m, as compared to net loss of $4.5m in Q4 fiscal 2009.

For the full fiscal year 2010, the company posted net revenue of $267m, an increase of 34% from $199.3m for fiscal 2009. The net loss for the year of 2010 was $34m, or $0.38 loss per share, increased from a net loss of $23.4m, or $0.28 loss per share, for fiscal 2009.

Aruba chief financial officer Steffan Tomlinson said profitability in the fourth quarter was driven by strong revenue growth, product mix, and prudent investments, as operating profit more than tripled over the fiscal fourth quarter in the prior year.

"We intend to further leverage our distribution channel to capitalise on these positive trends and sales momentum. As part of this effort, we announced an OEM agreement with Dell last week which we believe will complement our existing OEM and distribution partnerships to further expand our global sales footprint," Tomlinson said.
