American Industrial Systems (AIS) has launched 10.1" industrial touch panel PCs which are designed based on the Microsoft Windows Embedded CE operating system and the very low power Intel Atom processor.

The AIS 10.1" touch panel computer deliver cost-effective, real-time performance for robotics and machinery controls applications.

With the combination of Intel and Microsoft Windows Embedded platform technologies, the new PC offers a standard platform for real-time performance suited for the next-generation dynamic graphics visualisation, operator panel and Human-Machine Interface offerings.

The Intel Atom processor packs 47 million transistors on a single chip and runs all the necessary industrial control and HMI functions and with the Intel Atom N270 processor, designers can eliminate costly FPGA and ASICs, save development time and lower overall product cost.

The Windows Embedded CE 6.0 is designed for OEM machine builders who brings new devices to market in minimum time and at the lowest possible cost.

This integrated development environment (IDE) is based on a 32-bit native hard real-time operating system, said the company.

With AIS 10.1" and 15" industrial panel computers powered by Intel Atom Processor N270 with pre-installed, ready-to-run Windows embedded CE 6.0 operating system, users can customise the HMI visualisation offerings and can provide more value-add services to customers.
