How’s the Z88 – the new UKP200, 1 lb 14 oz portable with the 80 character 8-line supertwist LCD display from Sir Clive Sinclair’s Cambridge Computers Ltd going? The mail order back-log has now been filled, says Sir Clive, and the machine, which made a big impact at the Which Computer? Show in February (CI No 623), will go into the shops this week or next; for the record, Jim Westwood, technical director of Cambridge Computers, was project leader on the hardware design, with Richard Miller responsible for the design of the master gate chip, while Paul Bond, Mark Colton and Protechnic Computers Ltd were responsible for the Z88 sofware.
