Unisys West will now be a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Australia. Customer arrangements will not be impacted by the ownership change, said Unisys.
Unisys West will market its products and services under the Unisys brand. Unisys West was created in 2002 to offer IT services in Western Australia, including to BankWest.
Unisys will continue to provide a number of other services to BankWest including hardware maintenance services, application software and maintenance support, and business process outsourcing for check processing.
Tony Henshaw, vice president of outsourcing and infrastructure services for Unisys Asia Pacific, said: Unisys will continue to operate and serve clients in Western Australia in the same manner as it does in other states, leveraging Unisys high-quality delivery services using resources from within the state, Australia and internationally. This includes our work for the Western Australian Department of Child Protection, the Australian Department of Defence and Australia Post.
