Software Shelf, a provider of print management offerings for operating systems, has released Print Manager Plus 2010, a new software to printing administration that reduces print cost.

The company claims that the new offering enables print controls and accounting, reduces waste and increases cost savings. It lowers IT and hardware resource requirements for organisations and makes printing more efficient.

Software Shelf said, Print Manager Plus 2010 supports all printers, plotters and multifunctional devices, and monitors printing on all Microsoft, Macintosh, Unix, and Linux operating systems. It contains new print controls and accountability tools set to reduce the costs of printing throughout any network.

According to Software Shelf, the Print Manager Plus 2010 contains directory integration compatible with Windows Server 2008, and all previous Windows operating systems, which controls, audits and manages printing environments. The software is also packed with new reporting features, including over 130 built in reports, enabling printing to be tracked, controlled and billed for if required.

The company claims that the new security related features enable compliance to regulations such as HIPAA security rules and similar rules of the UK and European Data Protection regulations, as well as Sarbanes Oxley in the US.

William Feeley, CEO of Software Shelf International, said: “With Print Manager Plus 2010 we have now exceeded even the most complex hardware solutions available today and did so while continuing to dramatically reduce printing and print management costs to organisations of any size.”
