Sintrom Plc of Reading has expanded the third party maintenance portfolio of its Sysmatic Ltd subsidiary by paying a net UKP261,000 cash for maintenance and service contracts held by Dicoll Electronics Ltd, the computer subsidiary of Platon Plc. The contracts are on Dicoll’s graphics and image computer systems that are based on DEC hardware, and are currently generating annual business of UKP175,000. Dicoll is retaining – and expanding – its repair centre for the Military and Rugged systems that it designs and manufactures. The price paid by Sintrom covers the inventory of spares, and other fixed assets. Sysmatic was formed last year as a separate entity out of existing Sintrom businesses, and handles peripherals, and DEC and IBM computers.
