According to Alcatel-Lucent, it will deploy its 5580 Home Network Manager (HNM) enabling the Telefonica Group to deliver triple-play services while providing customer homes with the necessary remote support. Alcatel-Lucent’s solution will enable Telefonica to reduce the number of support request calls and on-site interventions.

Alcatel-Lucent’s 5580 HNM is a vendor-agnostic solution based on the TR-069 management interface, which has been defined by the DSL Forum for multi-vendor management of home devices. In addition to residential gateways, the product supports a full array of home devices, including Femtocells, WiMAX subscriber stations and IPTV set-top boxes.
