According to BroadSoft, the service is named Fibertel and will use its BroadWorks platform to provide Hosted PBX, unified messaging and advanced calling features to enterprise customers. Nianet will implement the BroadWorks Anywhere Fixed-Mobile Convergence feature, which facilitates sticky handover between IP and GSM/3G environments.

The company chose BroadWorks due to the SIP-compliant architecture and ecosystem, which includes the BroadSoft Xtended Program, BroadSoft’s Web 2.0 initiative that enables third-party developers to create new applications integrated with BroadWorks.

Steen Jeppesen, director of business development for Nianet, said: “We evaluated a number of telephony services but we felt that BroadWorks offered our customers a service they can implement quickly. Also, the platform’s APIs enables us to integrate it with our billing and customer portal service.”

Nianet operates in Denmark to support local communities and it supplies broadband services to private businesses. BroadSoft’s IMS-compliant BroadWorks platform provides VoIP applications, including Hosted Unified Communications, Mobile PBX, Business Trunking and residential broadband services integrated into a single VoIP application platform. BroadSoft provides VoIP application software that enables the delivery of hosted telephony and multimedia services. Its flagship BroadWorks technology empowers wireless, wireline and cable carriers to deliver voice and multimedia applications and features that enable them to increase revenue.
