Migration Technology Ltd, the Bourne End, Buckinghamshire company still better known as MS Associates and the developer of the CGEN Basic-to-C converter, has been bought from its parent, TIS Group Ltd, by a management group led by managing director Dr R Manning. While not prepared to disclose financial details of the deal, Dr Manning did say that there had been no aid from outside investors. The buy-out was precipitated by a realisation that, as a software developer, Migration did not fit in to the long term plans of hardware distributor TIS. TIS does however retain a small shareholding. Migration now intends to offer a translation service and Unix/C consultancy in addition to marketing the CGEN code translators.
