Under the agreement Patient Care Technology Systems’ (PCTS) Amelior patient tracking system will be integrated with Global Care Quest’s (GCQ) ICIS Dashboard, an integrated clinical information system for desktop PCs and mobile devices.
The two organizations will also coordinate their sales and marketing efforts to provide a comprehensive patient information system to hospitals.
Our partnership with PCTS will allow members of a medical team to view the full scope of information on a patient – from CT Scans, and vitals, to the exact location and care progression – all at the same time from virtually any PC with an internet connection, said GCQ chief executive Cleve Adams.
GCQ’s ICIS Dashboard automatically collects patient information including lab results, physician notes, CT Scans and x-rays, and presents it on a single screen. The system works both over local networks and the internet allowing medical team members to view the information both inside the hospital and on the road.
PCTS’ Amelior automatic tracking software provides real-time patient location and care progression information to help care givers manage clinical workflows. Patients and equipment wear a positioning tag that enables the software to record and communicate their location.
Using rules-based intelligence, patient movement and interactions with staff and equipment are communicated as time-stamped stages of a patient’s course of treatment. Working in conjunction with locating hardware including infrared, RFID, ultra-wideband and Wi-Fi, PCTS says the tracking system helps caregivers to better manage their workflow, orchestrate department resources and streamline patient flow.
The two companies expect the ICIS/Amelior integration to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2006.
