Vodafone UK has won a contract with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA).
According to the four year deal, Vodafone will continue to support the network of mobiles of MPS in addition to some of the forces’ BlackBerrys the company is already managing.
Vodafone UK enterprise director Peter Kelly said the telephone company is proud to continue to support the vital work of the UK’s police forces.
Vodafone was an existing supplier to the MPS. Towards the end of last year, it won an EU procurement competition for the National Police Framework Agreement.
Kelly added, "This agreement clearly demonstrates our commitment to delivering value for money, total communications services for both the Met and other UK police forces so they can further exploit opportunities to use communications technology to improve productivity, drive efficiencies and reduce costs."
