Virgin Media has unveiled a plan to expand its fibre network across East London to offer 152Mbps broadband, benefitting more than 100,000 homes.
The homes are close to the company’s existing network and the company is working on connecting homes across Bethnal Green, Newham, Isle of Dogs and West Ham, followed by in Stratford, Poplar, East Ham, Stepney and Bow later.
Virgin Media chief executive officer Tom Mockridge said, "Extending our network into East London means 100,000 more homes will benefit from the UK’s fastest most widely available broadband for the first time."
"This is a significant investment for Virgin Media and our largest, single network expansion project to date."
"We are very proud to be supercharging East London, helping thousands of people make the most of the UK’s exciting digital future."
