Enterprise cloud computing company, Salesforce.com has signed an agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications, NTT Europe to set up a data centre in the UK.
The data centre will help the company in offering cloud computing services across its increasing customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa, after it is completed in 2014.
Salesforce.com chairman and CEO Marc Benioff said Europe region was company’s fastest growing region in fiscal year 2013, delivering constant currency revenue growth of 38%.
"We are doubling down on Europe with the announcement of our new data centre in the UK, which will support continued customer success in EMEA,"Benioff said.
NTT Europe Wholesale Data Centre Business managing director Robin Balen said that the new data centre will be completely powered by renewable energy sources and will deliver an environmentally friendly facility for its customers in the region.
