Rapid-fire business intelligence (BI) software maker, Tableau Software has released Tableau 7.0.7 which provides direct access to the MapR Distribution for Apache Hadoop for big data analytics.

Inclusion of MapR support will allow Tableau 7.0.7 users to instantly create reports, data visualisations and dashboards without any programming or coding.

It will allow customers to natively connect to MapR through couple of clicks which is an enterprise-grade distribution for Apache Hadoop.

MapR Technologies director of business development Alan Geary said that MapR’s advanced distribution for Apache Hadoop combined with Tableau’s visual analytics will help businesses across industries gain insights from their big data.

"MapR is used by some of the world’s most reputable companies who will now be able to visualize and analyze complex, unstructured data in new ways," Geary said.

Previously, Tableau announced its support for Cloudera’s Distribution including Apache Hadoop (CDH).

Tableau Software chief development officer, co-founder Chris Stolte said the complexity and size of data can be overwhelming for many large enterprises

"The promise to see and understand data, no matter how large and complex, is made easier when Tableau and MapR bring it to life," Stolte said.
