Openwave Systems has entered into a collaboration with Digital Solutions Group (DSG), an African outsource provider, for fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) offerings and relationship marketing.
Under the agreement, DSG will distribute Openwave products while providing value-added professional services to operators in Africa and sub-Saharan markets. The services will consist of the company’s mobile internet mediation and mobile analytics offerings, with professional services from DSG.
The integrated offering is designed for mobile operators to monitor, manage and monetise the mobile internet in emerging and growth markets, the companies said.
According to Openwave, the initial roll out of the software offering will be powered by the Openwave Mobile Internet ReadySet, a prepackaged platform that provides operators with a central point from which to offer new mobile internet services. The roll out will be accompanied by Openwave Mobile Analytics, a suite that provides analytics and reporting for mobile devices.
The company said that the Openwave Mobile Internet ReadySet provides a mobile internet offering consisting of content adaptation, acceleration, bandwidth optimisation and service promotion and billing, in a single package.
Openwave Mobile Analytics enables operators to aggregate mobile data and information across data sources to provide a 360-degree view of their mobile network. It provides operators with insight into the operational aspects of their mobile broadband network and also helps operators drive adoption and minimise churn, the company said.
Alan Park, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Openwave, said: “Operators in emerging markets are exploring innovative ways to deliver easy to deploy mobile internet services that can help them effectively compete in the open internet.
“Openwave’s context-aware mediation and mobile internet solutions enable partners and customers to create and deliver compelling mobile internet services that can help them add value and intelligence to all types of traffic including web, voice, messaging and video. We are pleased with our collaboration with DSG and the ability to enable superior online experiences on connected devices.”
