According to Research In Motion (RIM), its BlackBerry Bold smartphone leverages NTT Docomo’s high-speed 3G and HSDPA networks. It offers phone, email, messaging, organizer and web browsing applications, as well as access to range of other mobile business and lifestyle applications.

BlackBerry Bold smartphone features a newly designed QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, and set of multimedia capabilities including an optional two megapixel camera with video recording and media player for music, videos and pictures. It also includes the new BlackBerry Media Sync application, allowing customers to synchronize their iTunes digital music collections with the smartphone.

The elegant design houses a comprehensive suite of new features as well as the traditional functionality of the BlackBerry platform that users have come to know and love.

Research In Motion has recently reported revenue of $2.58 billion in the second quarter ending August 30, 2008, up 15% from $2.24 billion in the previous quarter and up 88% from $1.37 billion in the same quarter of last year.

 

In September 2008, NTT Docomo has announced that it has joined hands with Nissan Motor and Sharp to develop a mobile phone capable of functioning as an intelligent key for automobiles. The device will incorporate Nissan’s Intelligent Key system, already a standard feature in various Nissan vehicles.
