Japanese mobile operator NTT DOCOMO has deployed Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Routers to build its Internet protocol (IP) network.
Deployment of Alcatel-Lucent’s 7750 Service Routers is expected to enhance the speed and capacity of NTT DOCOMO’s IP network to address the demand for mobile broadband services in Japan, the company said.
IP technology from Alcatel-Lucent will enable NTT DOCOMO to address demand for high-speed mobile broadband Internet services.
NTT DOCOMO has selected Alcatel-Lucent as its IP portfolio is based on High Leverage Network (HLN) architecture, which addresses the demands for high-bandwidth mobile services over the company’s LTE Network providing streamed movies and music, and multi-player video gaming.
The 7750 Service Routers features integrated LTE Security Gateway functionality with IPSec (IP security) technology, a key requirement to securely transport LTE data for NTT DOCOMO.
Alcatel-Lucent has joined hands with Fujitsu to put together an offer for NTT DOCOMO’s networking needs. Through the collaboration with Fujitsu, Alcatel-Lucent will deploy its IP/MPLS applications and Security Gateway capabilities, based on the company’s 7750 SR.
