NEC has released new Express5800 servers, R120d-2E, R120d-1E and T120d that are based on Intel Xeon E5-2400 product family.
The new servers are powered by NEC’s energy control technologies, system management capabilities and flexibility, simplifying system installation and management as well as optimising overall IT investment and operational costs.
The new features also improves the performance of on-premises server infrastructure, such as corporate data centers and branch offices.
The new Express5800 servers are operable in ambient temperatures as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) for compatibility with different climate conditions.
This technology will enable offices and data centres to reduce facility cooling costs, total power consumption and CO2 emissions without sacrificing uptime.
The new line of servers include a scheduled operation function that does not require an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and also includes a scheduled power capping function that enables flexible energy control than the previous models.
EXPRESSSCOPE Engine 3, NEC’s enterprise-class server management technology is integrated into the new server line to achieve direct and secure access to the controller without special software.
Express5800 servers also include 6th generation setup tool, EXPRESSBUILDER Ver.6 that enables auto OS installation after a 2-minute manual setting without technical skills.
The server lineup features the "R120d-2E Storage Rich" server with up to twenty-six 2.5-inch HDDs and 26TB disk capacity. This storage capacity is well suited for consolidation of small-scale storage.
