Major handset providers face browser patent suit

Digital media company Aloft Media has filed a patent suit in US District Court of Texas against Palm, Motorola, RIM, AT&T, Sony Ericsson, and Nokia, alleging the companies infringed its patented network browser technology.

The company is seeking an injunction against the companies and unspecified damages. It alleges that its patented technology has been used in Palm’s Treo 700p, Motorola’s Q, RIM’s BlackBerry Models 8820 and 8320, AT&T’s Tilt, Sony Ericsson’s P1i, and Nokia’s N95 and E90.
