Evernote, one of the most popular of the thousands of free applications available for the Apple iPhone has been upgraded to take advantage of new features made possible by the arrival of version 3.0 of the smartphone operating system.
The data synchronisation part of the application has been completely rewritten so that information about all notes entered into Evernote are now synched locally on the device.
Advanced search options are now easier to use and many types of searches can be performed locally without ever having to touch the server, so can be done at speed.
The system makes full use of maps so that notes can be associated with a location. New note views lets notes be grouped by date, title, notebook, city or country.
Evernote is a free application that is used to create notes, take snapshots, record audio memos using an iPhone or iPod Touch or desktop. Notes can then be viewed or searched on.
