Deutsche Telekom said that it would explore options for the sale of T-Mobile USA assets worth $39bn to AT&T after the deal was blocked by the US Justice Department.
The US Justice Department blocked the merger of AT&T Incorporated with T-Mobile when it filed suit last week to block AT&T proposed $39bn takeover of wireless rival T-Mobile USA.
The Justice Department maintains the deal would reduce competition, raise prices and reduce quality of wireless services.
Deutsche Telekom spokesperson Philipp Kornstaedt was quoted saying Bloomberg that if there are conditions attached to the ransaction, the company will work on the matter together with AT&T.
He said that Deutsche Telekom will join AT&T in court to defend the transaction, which was agreed in March.
If the deal fails Deutsche Telekom would receive a break-up fee package from AT&T that includes $3 billion in cash as well as spectrum, according to the deal terms announced in March.
