China’s Internet services provider Tencent and Cisco have entered into an agreement, under which each party will utilise its respective industry experience and platform advantages to construct an interactive enterprise platform based on Cisco Unified Communications through technological innovation, joint promotion, and the establishment of joint teams.

The companies said that the collaboration will accelerate development in informationisation and advance the integration of the two concepts.

Cisco and Tencent will also cooperate in developing channels, marketing and support plans to bring the unified communications offering to the China market.

In addition, the two companies also plan the establishment of a joint lab focused on research of a range of technologies to enable Tencent to meet its data centre needs and will cooperate in developing a large-scale network platform to serve internet service providers in China.
