The company has posted total revenues from services of NIS1.48 billion, up 4.3% compared to NIS1.42 billion in the same period of 2007. During the third quarter of 2008, EBITDA increased by 12.9% to NIS630 million from NIS558 million in the comparable period of 2007.
In the third quarter of 2008, the company added approximately 71,000 net new 3G subscribers to its 3G subscriber base, reaching approximately 679,000 3G subscribers at the end of September 2008. These represent 21.5% of the company’s total subscriber base.
Amos Shapira, CEO of Cellcom Israel, said: This quarter we continued to present revenue growth, which was reflected by an increase of 5% in total revenues and a further increase of 31% in revenues from content and value added services. The increase in revenues resulted, among other thing, from drawing new subscribers and to improve the composition of our subscriber base. These higher ARPU generating customers helped drive the strong revenue increase this quarter.
