Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) and Alvarion’s local partner Vuppalamritha Magnetic Components (VMC) have selected Alvarion, a provider of 4G networks in the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) market.
Under the agreement, Alvarion will supply base stations with professional services for the building of a 4G wireless broadband network in rural India.
VMC will use Alvarion’s 4Motion offering including BreezeMAX base stations, in the 2.5 GHz frequency.
VMC executive director Venkat Ramana said Alvarion is a recognised leader in the Wireless Broadband industry and their global 4G deployment expertise will provide customers a seamless broadband experience and will have a positive impact on society and economy.
The rollout is expected to begin in the next few months and will enable delivery of wireless broadband services by BSNL.
