Enterprise virtualisation and storage company Nutanix has selected the UK’s Air Ambulance Service as one of the three non-profit organisations to benefit from Nutanix’s Web-Scale Wish Datacenter Makeover Project.
Under the Web-Scale Wish Datacenter Makeover Project, Nutanix will donate $500,000 in data centre infrastructure to non-profit organisations.
It will provide selected organisations a 48-hour web-scale data centre makeover package, along with three Ultimate Software Licenses, three years of Nutanix Platinum Plus support, and a two-day on-site installation service.
Nutanix said that the Air Ambulance Service was selected from hundreds of other applicants from across the globe, and it will now receive a fully licensed Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure appliance installed by Nutanix with technical support for 3 years.
The Air Ambulance Service was reportedly struggling to raise the budget to keep up with the demand of IT and to migrate to a virtual environment.
Now, Nutanix will provide its hyper-converged Nutanix platform, which will handle both the charity’s existing workloads and growth over the next few years.
Nutanix Regional Director Paul Phillips said: "We’re delighted to be able to recognise the valuable work of The Air Ambulance Service in this way.
"The entrants were all deserving, but the judges clearly felt The Air Ambulance Service would get real benefit from the Nutanix hyper-converged platform and be able to put it to immediate use supporting the essential emergency medical services they provide across the UK."
