IBM has unveiled its SmartCloud Foundation software that represents advancement in the level of visibility, control and automation for organisations to manage securely and deploy cloud services.
The software allows organisations to install, manage, configure and automate the creation of cloud services in private, public or hybrid environments better.
New IBM software shortens delivery time through end-to-end automation, standardisation and repeatability, reduces resource costs by 20% while increasing predictability of deployments through low touch and self-service, delivers 40% more agility and increases application service availability and performance 20%, the company said.
In a bid to address clients need to exert the same control over the virtualised, distributed world as they would exert over prior models of IT, the company has launched new applications, including IBM SmartCloud Control Desk, IBM Endpoint Manager for Mobile Devices, IBM SmartCloud Monitoring and IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center.
The company’s SmartCloud Control Desk provides organisations the ability to maintain configuration integrity in response to planned changes and unplanned incidents and problems occurring across a complex IT landscape.
The Big Blue’s Endpoint Manager for Mobile Devices helps firms manage and secure their mobile environments whereas IBM SmartCloud Monitoring enables cloud administrators to maximise cloud availability and utilisation by monitoring virtual infrastructures and applying analytics to optimize workload placement.
IBM SmartCloud Virtual Storage Center improves the flexibility, cost, utilisation and performance of storage with automated administration, management and provisioning controls.
