Volta Data Centres and Ocean Intelligent Communications (OIC) have partnered to deliver resilient and scalable IT infrastructure to the City of London.
OIC said the venture will boost its cloud based services and infrastructure to City customers, targeting financial and insurance companies.
Volta Data Centres has been tasked with providing OIC customers with its OceanCloud solution, in addition to carrying an independent MPLS network, offering a virtual data centre service and an IaaS platform.
Jason Osmond, Group Sales Director at OIC said: "We wanted a data centre that fitted with our strategic ‘right partnership’ approach and we felt Volta was a great cultural fit."
"Its independent approach to carriers is really important to us. The way we operate the OceanCloud service is carrier agnostic, so any data centre we partner with has to be well lit and not tied to individual network provider or carrier – Volta’s approach to that sits well with our strategic plans."
The partnership is Volta’s eight deal this year totalling £500,000 since January.
