Accenture has made a bold statement regarding its use of Office 365 and cloud, with Accenture Australia operations lead Andre Conti stating that the company is the biggest user of Office 365 in the world.
Conti then went big on a cloud claim, saying that Accenture is also the largest user in the world of cloud for business.
The company uses a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution like Salesforce for internal document management.
Speaking to ZDNet Conti said: “Between the SaaS, the PaaS, and the IaaS, we basically have already migrated 60 percent of our entire IT infrastructure and applications to the cloud.”
The company expects to have around 90% of its IT and IT applications in the cloud over the next 12 to 18 months.
Conti noted that cloud is becoming one of the foundational technologies that allows all of the projects and programmes to come alive at a very low cost and in an agile way.
He said an organisation that uses cloud can become faster, more agile, and deliver more innovation, describing cloud as a cost-effective option.
“A lot of people start this cloud thing with money in mind, but they realise the agility, the speed, and the innovation are really the driving factors,” he said.
Accenture Cloud Platform infrastructure services offer self-service requesting, provisioning, and deployment of virtual infrastructure across a list of global infrastructure providers.

It includes virtual servers, virtual networks, and storage from the cloud as well as a 24/7 service desk for support.
The automated functionality enables users to build, deploy and manage their own virtual infrastructure and cloud solutions rapidly.
Last month, Accenture signed an original equipment manufacturer agreement with SAP to offer its human capital management applications on SAP’s cloud platform, as a service.
UPDATE: Accenture told CBR that they cannot confirm that they are the biggest users of Office 365, although maintained that they are one of the largest.
