CB LUX Group Services, the IT service department of Commerzbank International, a provider of private and corporate banking services, has implemented FalconStor’s Virtual Tape Library and Network Storage Server to improve data protection for its VMware environment and Microsoft Windows servers.
The deployment of Virtual Tape Library (VTL) and Network Storage Server (NSS) has enabled CB LUX Group Services to virtualize its servers, tapes and disks, reducing the server backup window while also addressing the backup, failover, and recovery of its virtual servers.
FalconStor VTL has addressed the backup window challenge for CB LUX Group Services and allows the financial institution to have an unlimited number of tape drives without additional investment in hardware. It also allows the company to add more libraries without additional software investments, said FalconStor.
Patrick Sibilio, IT assistant manager of CB LUX Group Services, said: We are more efficient with FalconStor VTL and NSS software. The snapshot capability within FalconStor NSS simplifies data recovery. If we lose data we can easily recover using snapshots instead of enduring the long process of recovering from tape.
