Amsterdam, Netherlands-based Fujistu Siemens’ DeskView client management software adds hardware inventory and monitoring, as well as remote BIOS and power management to Salt Lake City, Utah-based Altiris’s eponymous lifecycle management software, which covers configuration, deployment, patch and migration management functionality.

Fujitsu Siemens already distributes Altiris’s lifecycle management products and is preparing to demonstrate the integration of these with DeskView. A memorandum of understanding has also been signed between the two companies to integrate the DeskView functionality into the recently released Altiris 6.0.

A co-developed integrated client management solution is scheduled for release in April. Altiris has a similar relationship with Hewlett-Packard Co, which appeared to have been placed in danger by HP’s recent agreement to acquire configuration and change management vendor Novadigm Inc.

Despite that, HP recently announced support for Altiris version 6.0, on which it has based the latest version of its HP Client Manager Software. The company is also making use of the Altiris Connector for HP Systems Insight Manager, which is included with Altiris 6.0 and provides integration of PC management into the SIM.
