Zetta, a provider of enterprise storage service, has introduced Data Protect, an offsite data protection service which improves enterprise data integrity.
The company said that Data Protect includes the Mirror agent, which protects data by securely replicating disparate enterprise data sources to the Storage Service, creating an always-online, available, and verified copy of the customers’ data.
The new offering comprises a seven-year version history, encryption at rest, and native POSIX compliance with industry-leading performance, Zetta said.
According to Zetta, data is replicated to a choice of multiple locations throughout the US and is available in a mountable and viewable file system format at all times, and can be accessed via NFS, rsync, FTP, WebDAV, and other standard enterprise protocols, while the default snapshot history on the Zetta system allows restores of any file versions from the past seven years.
In addition, Zetta can replicate data between its West-Coast and East-Coast data centres to provide copies in multiple geographic zones, protecting against total site destruction and regional disasters.
Zetta co-founder and CEO Jeff Treuhaft said data protection is vital to any enterprise, but remains a risky and time-consuming task for IT departments.
"Just install the ZettaMirror agent and you can immediately replicate your data to Zetta safely with built-in file integrity, security and performance advantages," Treuhaft added.
